Manuscript guidelines

All oral presentations must be accompanied by a manuscript submitted by 27 February 2009 for inclusion in the electronic proceedings. No printed version of the proceedings will be published, but the proceedings will be available online.

Selected papers will be considered for publication in the Australian Forestry Journal.

All manuscripts must be written in English and submitted electronically (e-mailed as MS Word attached documents to shammara.roche@fpc.wa.gov.au). Authors are solely responsible for the technical content of the manuscript; no technical editing will be done by the conference organisers.

All manuscripts must conform to the following guidelines:

  • Paper size: A4 (21 cm x 29.7 cm)
  • Margins: (2.5 cm) on all four sides
  • Font: Arial 11, single spacing
  • Title and authors names centred and capitalise first letter in each word. The title should be in bold. Author’s affiliations and e-mail addresses for corresponding authors should be included.
  • Length: The maximum length for a manuscript is 10 single-space pages including all text, figures, tables and literature citations.
  • All measurement units should be metric.
  • A brief abstract (350 words maximum) should be included with the manuscript. It should start immediately after the authors name and have “Abstract” at the beginning. The abstract should be indented on the left and right side approximately 1 cm.
  • Body of the manuscript should be single spaced and left justified. Do not indent the first lines of paragraphs.
  • The format for papers is flexible, but manuscripts should include the “standard” sections of a scientific paper (e.g. Abstract, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, and Literature Cited). Some sections can be combined (e.g. Results and Discussion).
  • Do not insert page numbers
  • Tables should be placed within the text
  • Figures should be imbedded as pictures (.jpegs) or charts within the text.
  • Authors are free to use whatever literature citation convention is customary.

All manuscripts must be received by 27 February 2009.
